The eagle was carved by a master in the 1960's. It was damaged in a home fire and attempts to repair it were hastily done
for the masters funeral. This beautiful carving was brought to us to be cleaned and restored. The picture on the left is
before restoration began. The picture to the right is after five months work in my spare time. The clients were amazed and
very pleased. I now hope to restore other carvings by the master that are owned by their relatives.
Sorry about the quality of the photo. This deep relief musket was carved and photographed before digital
technology. It is 8 feet long , 10 inches thick and 10 inches wide. I have only carved two . I will try to get a photo of
the other one as soon as it is installed.
Deep Relief carved from Mahogany and Canadian Basswood.
This project was for a sign, at the entrance to our shop, a kind of
family crest. I like carving birds.
This is a  hand-dovetailed keepsake box with a stylistic sunflower carved on
the lid it is made of antique pine. This photo was also taken before digitals.
This custom made cedar chest has a traditional push button locking
mechanism. Only the finest hardware and air-dried southeastern red
aromatic cedar is used for these heirloom chests. I built my first
chest in 1982 the owner still as it sitting at the foot of her bed.
The tray is 6" deep, 40" long and 16" in depth. Notice the brass lift
mechanism and the breadboard ends they have a dual purpose of adding
contrast to the top and practically in preventing the top from warping
.
