Woodcarving began for me when I was disabled with a back injury
that put me in a wheelchair for two years.
My first professional carving job was a communion table for a
country church it was made from beautiful old growth southern yellow
pine just like the church.
Letter carving requires a great deal of planning and layout. The
execution must be flawless. I have carved over a hundred signs by hand
with limitless variations in design. This is just one of many, it is
memorable because the carving was done in three days for a
Thanksgiving deadline.

It took as long to paint the incised lettering as it did to carve them.
Chess table with two drawers, the box is red oak and the top is made of
individual pieces of walnut and maple. The chessmen are hand-carved
from walnut and sugar maple. This is a commissioned piece.
The cedar chest is made from solid Eastern Red Aromatic Cedar
harvested from the clients own property. Made in the traditional
style with full mortise and tenon joinery. It is 42"x 21"x 18" deep
with a lift out tray.

Hand carved and painted this dragon box is 12" wide and 9" long. A great
deal of work went into this piece. It is a commissioned work.
